Welcoming Melanie Gross, PT, DPT, to Leaps and Bounds!

We are thrilled to announce that Melanie Gross, PT, DPT, has joined the Leaps and Bounds team! Melanie brings with her a passion for pediatric physical therapy and a warm, play-based approach to helping children achieve their gross motor development goals.

From the very beginning of her career, Melanie has dedicated herself to working with children. She believes in the power of meeting kids where they are—literally! Whether at home, in the community, or wherever a child feels most comfortable, Melanie works in natural environments to support meaningful progress. Her sessions are designed to be fun and engaging, following the child’s lead and using play as the foundation for growth and success.

Education & Credentials

Melanie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She holds her Illinois Physical Therapy License and Illinois Early Intervention Credential – Physical Therapy, and is also CPR certified.

A Little More About Melanie

Melanie lives in Glencoe, IL with her husband and their three children. Outside of work, she is an avid reader with a “to be read” list that never seems to end (and she wouldn’t have it any other way!). Her love of learning and curiosity carry over into her practice, where she is always seeking new ways to help her patients thrive.

Her favorite childhood game was Uno, which reflects her playful spirit and love of family time. She also finds inspiration in one of her favorite quotes by E. E. Cummings:

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”

At Leaps and Bounds, we couldn’t agree more—laughter and joy are powerful tools in therapy, and we’re excited for the positivity Melanie brings to every session.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Melanie! We are so lucky to have her on our team and can’t wait for the families we serve to meet her.
